White Owl Bistro

ABOUT US

The White Owl Bistro is a charming 40 seat casual dining restaurant located on the shores of Lake Nipissing. We offer a wide range of traditional bistro fare with our main focus on farm to table cuisine. The taste and quality of our food is largely due to the emphasis we place on using seasonal, local, sustainable and healthy ingredients. We are big supporters of our farmers and producers in the North.  As an added bonus, in the summer months you can enjoy your dining experience on our 1500 sq-ft fully licensed patio while taking in the beauty of our famous Nipissing sunsets.  The White Owl Bistro is made for memories…

Inside the restaurant we can accommodate up to 40 patrons. We also cater to small parties, special events and weddings.  Please view our catering menu if you would like to plan your next get-together!  Feel free to mention any special menu requests, Chefs René and Laura are more than happy to accommodate your needs.  If you would like to reserve your party, please contact us so we can start planning your special event today!

OUR LAKESIDE PATIO

In the warmer months, we invite you to experience a magical dining experience on our beautiful lakeside patio.  Just imagine taking in the beautiful lakeside view while sipping your cold pinot grigio and satisfying your palate with our delectable food.  For your added pleasure, we will be hosting live musical entertainment with some of North Bay’s finest musicians!  Make sure to join us this summer! Nothing beats fine service, fine wine, fine food and fine entertainment all with an unbeatable view!

A PROUD PART OF NORTH BAY HISTORY

The White Owl Bistro was originally built in 1934 as a confectionery store and small diner.  It was famous for serving local patrons tasty breakfast, sandwiches and the largest ice cream cones in the Bay. It was later sold then purchased by the Sunset Inn (located next door) in 2003 and renovated into the 40 seat restaurant it is today.

In 2006, René and his wife Laura Dubois (Graduates of Canadore College Culinary Management Year 2000) became the proud owners of the White Owl Bistro. They continue the tradition of satisfying local patrons with great food and welcoming new ones passing by.
